CBD (Cannabidiol) is a chemical compound with several therapeutic potentials.  It is one of over 85 unique compounds found in hemp, known as cannabinoids.

What is Hemp

Hemp includes all varieties of the Cannabis genus that contain negligible amounts of THC.  The Cannabis family has several different breeds, yet it is most infamously known for marijuana (“weed”). This is the main reason why people confuse the term hemp with marijuana. Hemp actually refers to the industrial, non-drug variant of cannabis that is cultivated for its fiber, hurd, and seeds.

Hemp vs Marijuana

Are Hemp and Marijuana Same? Short Answer: No. They are both part of the cannabis family.  Hemp is completely different from marijuana in its function, cultivation and application.  An analogy in the animal kingdom would be comparing a horse to donkey.  Each is part of Equus genus and are so similar that they can breed and produce a mule.  Another analogy is dogs and wolves.  They are scientifically the same Canine species.  Howevery, dogs are a subspecies of wolves and dogs have completely different form and functions.

Marijuana is used for medicinal and recreational purposes.  Hemp is used in variety of applications that include healthy dietary supplements, skin products, clothing, and accessories. Overall, hemp is known to have over 25,000 possible applications.  CBD is the predominant cannabinoid found in hemp.

What are Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found in cannabis that offer array of therapeutic benefits.  They bind to receptors in the brain and body.  By focusing right cannabinoids to right receptors, you can get wide variety of different types of relief.  The two main compounds are THC and CBD.

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) binds to receptors in the brain. It is psychoactive and causes the high in user.

CBD (cannabidiol) is Non-psychoactive and does NOT create any high.  It activates endocannabinoid nervous receptors througout the body.  It allows user to remain clear-headed and focused.  CBD counteracts the psychoactive effects of THC.  It is legal in all 50 states under federal law.

Where does CBD come from?

CBD is extracted and separated from specific varieties of cannabis hemp oil.  Hemp oil is extracted from the stalk of hemp plant.  It is the most abundant cannabinoid found in hemp and typically composes up to 40% of the extract.

Federal law under the 2014 Farm Bill (Agricultural Act of 2014) allows for the cultivation, processing, and marketing of hemp and hemp products, which includes CBD derived from industrial hemp.

How Can I Get Only CBD

CBD oil extracted from hemp has trace amounts of THC.  Many users only want CBD and none of the other cannabinoids such as THC.  Some states have restrictions on the use of CBD because of trace amounts of THC.

CBD Isolates are produced as result of chemical purification process.  CBD Isolates crystallization process separates CBD from all contaminates including THC.  The result is 0.0% THC.  Only pure CBD is used for therapeutic purposes.  It is like extracting pure caffeine from coffee.

CBD Hemp Oil vs Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp products sold in grocery and health food stores are made from hemp seed oil, which contains trace amounts of CBD.  While hemp seed oil has beed noted as good source of nutrition, its microscopic amound of CBD makes is unfeasible as a  therapeutic supplement.

Our CBD hemp oil is extracted from the hemp stalk of specific hemp cultivars, offering higher percentages of CBD by weight and and efficacy.
